Con el proyecto PINTA UN ÁRBOL EN EL DESIERTO pretendemos incentivar el fomento y desarrollo de la Escuela Saharaui de Arte, cuya primera sede está en la Wilaya de Bojador, en los campamentos de refugiados saharauis de Tinduf (Argelia).
Nuestro objetivo es vincular estos campamentos y la Escuela Saharaui de Arte con el mundo exterior mediante la ilustración, y más en concreto con el álbum ilustrado.
Para empezar iremos a Tinduf y participaremos en Artifariti 2013 (2 la 9 de noviembre), donde desarrollaremos un taller en el cual vincularemos el trabajo de ilustradores internacionales con el de todas aquellas personas de los campamentos saharauis que quieran participar en la actividad.
El vínculo lo establecen árboles, árboles que han sido donados por ilustradores como símbolo de apoyo al pueblo saharaui, árboles de vivos colores que transmitan alegría y sensaciones. Árboles como metáfora de adaptación al medio, y en definitiva, a la vida.
Nosotras, con la ayuda de los participantes en el taller reproduciremos estos árboles en murales sobre las paredes de la Escuela Saharaui de Arte, contenedores, almacenes... o donde podamos.
¡Nos gustaría conseguir un bosque en el desierto!
With the proyect PAINT A TREE IN THE DESERT our purpose is to encourage and foster the development of the Saharawi School of Arts, located in Wilaya, in Bojador, in the Saharawi refugee camp in Tindouf (Algeria).
Our aim is to link these camps and the Sahrawi School of Art with the rest of the worldthrough illustration.
We'll travel to Tindouf and take part in ARTifariti 2013 (from November the 2nd to the 9th), where we will offer a workshop in which, together with all the Saharawi willing to participate, we will paint these trees in their streets.
We intend to paint trees in the desert as a symbol of support for these people. Bright, colorful trees that convey joy and emotion. Trees as a metaphor of adaptation to the environment, and adaptation to life.
Illustrators from around the world have contribute a tree which they have painted, so we are going to paint them in the camps.
The more trees, the better!
